I have a fun post today – TEQUILA cocktail recipes! For those 21 and older, and please drink responsibly! I worked with the crew at Julio Cesar Chavez Tequila this summer and learned all about the process of making tequila. Not only for traditional “shots” but also for sipping, and my favorite, cocktails!

Both of these recipes are light and refreshing for any time of the year and with Mexican food of course. I’m sure lots of people will be drinking and mixing tequila cocktails this weekend in honor of Mexican Independence Day!

To get you in the mood, here is a lovely performance by one of my favorite bands, Mariachi Flor de Toloache!

Alright, NOW are you ready for some tequila cocktails? Me too!

Here is my video that has both cocktail recipes!

For the second recipe in the video, here is what you need!

Julio Guava Strawberry Margarita Ingredients:

3 chunks Strawberry

1.5 oz Julio César Chávez Reposado Tequila

1.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice

1.5 oz Agave Néctar

2 oz Guava Néctar

Instructions: Put 3 chunks of Strawberry in shaker and muddle Fill with ice and add Julio César Chávez Reposado Tequila Fresh lime juice, Agave Néctar, Guava Néctar. Cover shaker with glass or shaker top – shake intensely to mix. Strain into 14 oz glass with fresh juice and garnish with strawberry slice.

Salud!

Want to see something totally goofy? Here’s a video of me trying a “proper” tequila shot! The video below wasn’t sponsored, I just did it because I wanted to get the full experience of a tequila shot, kinda a bucket list thing. and I thought it would be fun to share with all of you. Patrick filmed it, so you can hear his comments in the background!

Thanks for checking out my post, I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!

Love & light,
