Mango Teriyaki Turkey Burger Bites

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Kikkoman and Latina Bloggers Connect.

I have another low-cal recipe for you! This time I’ve incorporated Kikkoman Teriyaki Marinade and Sauce to make these Mango Teriyaki Turkey Burger Bites. You can choose to serve them as full burgers or cut them into quarters and serve as appetizers! DANG – I should have made these into kabobs! Yum! Imagine chunks of grilled mango, turkey burger, avocado…I’m sooo making these again in that way!

When I first presented the idea of the grilled mango and teriyaki to the family, they were a little hesitant. But once all was said and done and we tried the first bite – WIN! It’s a happy combo of flavor and texture. Almost indulgent! One of the challenges I have with eating healthier is finding easy-to-make recipes. I wear a lot of hats for my business and don’t have time to spend on elaborate grocery shopping or cooking. Kikkoman sauces are a nice shot cut for me (which is why I love doing campaigns like this with them!), as well as a recipe like this that has minimal ingredients.

I’ve learned that replacing beef with turkey is a big calorie cutter. Plus, if you want to serve these to guests or loved ones, you are doing them a healthy favor too. The flavor kick comes from the dash of the Kikkoman Teriyaki Marinade. I used it on the grilled mangos and on the burger too, then added a dash of pepper!

What is so convenient about Kikkoman sauces is they are super versatile, always a main staple in the kitchen. Here at our house, we use them on top of hard-boiled eggs, on steaks and chicken, on the grill and in soups. And I like that the formula is traditionally-brewed – aged for months until it is ripe and ready. You can brush it on meat, veggies, even fruit. And did you know Japanese-Americans in Hawaii added fresh ginger, brown sugar, pineapple juice and green onions to produce the teriyaki?

To make this recipe, I used: Ground turkey burgers, sliced mangos, avocado, spinach, tomato and a thin sandwich bun – and Kikkoman Teriyaki Marinade and Sauce, of course!

Slice the mangos thinly, and dip them in the teriyaki.

Then with a grill pan heated to medium-high, grill the mango slices.

Now grill the patties!

Now put it all together. you can decide if you want to use one half of the bun or all of it.

Delish! I also added spinach and tomato!
