Mexi-Style Holiday Card Kits

My dear friend Rina Gonzales of MothershipScrapbookGal.com is the queen of card kits! So I was flattered when she whipped up kits using my Crafty Chica papers! I asked Rina if she could send me some kits that I could play with, and wow, they are so addicting! I’ve never been a solid paper crafter, but I found her kits to be very easy to use because everything matches – and I love the Mexi-style of it all. Again, I’m blown away that these are my papers used here, it was a blast to design them, but even better to use them!

Rina’s kits are $6.50, come with a blank card, assorted papers cut to size, accent images, trims, sparkles and even adhesive to put it all together! You’ll have plenty of supplies leftover after you make the card!

Here is where you can buy kits too!

The original kits she sent me were themed for Dia de los Muertos, so to turn them into holiday cards, I went on Etsy and bought some digital collage sheets of the Virgin of Guadalupe. I used La Virgen as the focal point.

Overall, I used a lot of the supplies in the kits, but also selected items from my own stash to add more embellishments. Each kit actually comes with more than enough supplies!

I tore one of the papers and decorated some of the edges with ink.

I used stamped designs on the background of the cards. The stamps in this pic below? They are ones I designed, stay tuned, i’ll be selling them here soon!

In addition, I used some fun Spanish-language cling stamps from LatinaCrafter.com!

I then added the accent paper, trim…

I only worked on three cards, but quickly busted out more of my supplies to create more. All of this made for the perfect crafternoon!
