I love me some Fiona Apple, especially when she sings unexpected covers, like Frosty the Snowman and Across the Universe. She has a way of retelling the story, rearranging the meaning just by the emphasis she chooses for words and syllables. This time around, she takes on the classic, Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Ahhh, I love it even more. Just when it sounds so sad that I want o cry, she picks it up and gives it an inspirational pop. And, it is sponsored by… Chipotle? OK, I get it, it is all about sending the message of eating healthy, bucking mainstream, processed food. But this short is so haunting, it looks like it is part of an indie film from Sundance. Cool ad campaign, it certainly got my attention!
