Home from CHA Winter 2013

We’re home from a razzle dazzle week in Los Angeles for the Winter CHA show! It was, by far, one of the best yet. The first day, Maya and I hung out with the amazing Nely Galan! That’s an entirely separate blog post, which I’ll get to very soon!

Now, about CHA…I was there with our team from iLoveToCreate. I’m so proud that every year we have one of the best booths in the entire show. The team starts brainstorming as early as spring for the January show. This  year the theme was “Follow Us to Creativity” and was a fun interactive timeline of all the brands. This was our make-n-take area – patio tables! We also had a tie-dye van that served as a little blogger lounge area.

Here I am with Tanner Bell. He is like the Justin Bieber of the craft world!

Postcards made by Alexa, SwellDesigner!

Some of the things I made for the designer display.

I made this photo booth wall area for pictures! Each corner of our iLTC booth had a great photo wall!!

Taking a much needed break with Vickie Howell and Steve Piacenza.

Me with Wendy Russell from She’s Crafty!

My painted dresses on display!

OK – get this – FloraCraft had a special blogger breakfast and we were all entered into a drawing to win an iPad Mini. I’ve always wanted an iPad but felt guilty buying one when we needed our money used in much more useful ways. Right before I left my hotel room that morning, I told Maya (who was still in bed): “Wish me luck to win that iPad Mini!”

I got to the event and when I registered, I wrote my name and underneath in small letter I also wrote “Pick me!” I then folded up my paper and dropped it in the bowl.

I WON!! I won the iPad Mini! I’m still in happy shock!

Here is our booth, our tables were always filled with people crafting!

I painted 36 mugs for VIP bloggers but Fed Ex had a problem and the they didn’t arrive until the very last day of the show! I cried Saturday morning, but by Sunday, I had let it go. The good news is that there were still plenty of VIP bloggers on the last day – like Ms. Margot Potter!!

Here we are on the last day being goofy! Me, Maya, Alexa and Pattie!
Can you tell I love my job? I do!!!

  1. Woohoo! Congrats on winning an iPad. You will love it and wonder what you ever did without it. I hope it doesn’t take away from your craft time. I have been seeing alllll of the CHA coverage. Lots of cool products and pretty paper. I am disappointed on not seeing latin/spanish/ hispanic etc inspired stuff. When will it come. I have seen French, Asian, English, African etc inspired products in the past and present. Our culture has such cool colors and motifs. Your Halloween Collection last year is an prime example. Can you beg, plead, suggest to make them? Can you come out with a paper line? Someone please! LOL
