Crafty Chica product line for HSN

Update: HSN is sold out of all my products, which is pretty awesome! But guess what? I have some extras that I’m selling in my online shop. One of the stamp sets, and one of the bundles!

The Crafty Chica product line for HSN is here! I’ve been working on it since January with The Maker’s Movement, and my segments aired on HSN earlier this month. Even though some products are sold out, there are still some for sale. I’d buy them sooner than later, they always sell out so fast!

Here is a little overview video I made, look for more videos soon that break down each item!

My history with HSN

The craft buyer reached out to me in 2015 to have my then Crafty Chica line on air, but things never quite lined up. It’s a balance between finding the right manufacturer, etc. I never gave up hope and I stayed in touch with the buyer. She never gave up on me and we both knew we’d try again when the time felt right.

This past January, our paths connected again. To back up even more – last year I made a huge decision for my business and I hired a manager, Candy. The move was scary because while I’ve always had freelancers help with all I do, I never had one person, aside from myself to oversee everything.

Hiring Candy was the BEST move ever.

Candy took over all my contacts and reached out to introduce herself. In the process, she met the HSN buyer. Next thing – we’re set up to meet face-to-face at Creativation (before COVID days!). The three of us made a plan.

I literally left the meeting, walked onto the show floor and right in front of my eyes was The Maker’s Movement booth! A good friend of mine worked there and had told me they were interested in working with me. Isn’t crazy how the right people show up at the right time?

“Will you help me with HSN?” I asked.

“YES!”

My takeaway: When you make the decision to financially invest in yourself for your business, you are proving YOU really believe in YOU. It’s good to DIY in some situations, but if you want to grow your business, you must make a plan to hire a team. I’ll expand on this in another post!

The product development crew at TMM helped guide me though the process of starting a new line from scratch. I made a wish list of the kinds of dies I wanted and Kayla brought them to life. Even better – this company is also based in Phoenix, my home town!

So not only are these products designed by me, but they are made here in town!

I made this card using Crafty Chica papers, the papel picado die and the piñata motif from the ephemera set.

What you’ll find in the Crafty Chica product line:

Two paper pads – one is 12×12 and the other is 6×6. They are heavyweight, glossy and double-sided. Each set has some of the same designs, but different ones mixed in. Note: These papers are not matte, they are shiny and glossy 🙂

Three stamp sets – These are all themed for friendship, thanks and positivity. Plus birthday!

Dies – My favorite is the papel picado die. I love using it with my papers or with glittered cardstock. There’s also a flower set and a heart shrine set that has eight-pieces.

Ephemera pack – These are “topper” pieces you can use to add dimension to your designs. You can layer them with the papers or use them as a stand alone. I like using foam core to give them a lift from my page.

There’s also a sacred heart charm that you can add color to or use as is.

The larger paper pack in the Crafty Chica product line for HSN is great for making slimline cards, which are so popular right now! I also created a paper sheet that has rows of different patterns that can be cut up to use as washi tape.

Shaker cards!

Check out the upper right card. It’s a piñata shaker card made by Kayla. Soooo cute, I can’t wait to make one! If you get the Heartful Positivity set, you’ll receive the die set that has eight pieces and the opportunity to create two styles of shaker cards, plus a bunch of other designs.

Designing this line was so exciting and fulfilling. I have to give a shout out to my friend, Naomi, for connecting me to The Maker’s Movement team. I met Naomi when she came on one of the Crafty Chica cruises and we stayed in touch all these years!

I’m not sure what will happen next with HSN, maybe I’ll be back! In the meantime I’m designing a whole new collection for TMM that will be for sale later this year.

Last reminder for the Crafty Chica product line for HSN: Buy the paper, it always sells out so fast!

Thank you so much for all the support, and stay tuned for some new craft tutorials with the line!
