Crayon candles are fun to make, but kinda stinky. Problem solved: Insert a scented tea light while they are still warm!

Directions for Scented Heart Crandles

Break up the crayons and put them in the molds. Fill a little more than half way.

Choose if you want to melt them in the microwave or in the oven.

I went with the oven. 200 degrees for 20 minutes. For the microwave, melt in 60-second intervals until they look wet and the outer edges are liquified.

DO not stir, because the colors will mesh together into one. I wanted the look of chunky crayons, so I tried to keep them as is as much as I could.

Remove the plastic covering from the tea lights.

Insert a heart into the hot, melted crayons.Press in place. The colors will mix a bit. I added in crayon pieces around the outside of the heart to give it texture.

Let cool for an hour or so, then remove. Before you try to remove them, feel the bottom of the mold areas, if it feels warm, let it set longer until completely cool.

This is what they look like cooled. Aren’t they cool looking?

And here they are lit!

Remember – NEVER leave lit candles unattended! I’m actually going to set these inside a glass jar.

I put them on a candle tray for the picture, but I think they’ll look sweet in a shallow candle jar!
