Tile Candle Holders

Here in Arizona, many of our Thanksgiving gatherings will take place outside in the cool November air, which is why we are big on patio candles. I used ceramic square accent tiles from Lowe’s to create this look. Accent tiles have a little opening where you can set in a small object in your layout before adding grout – but in this case, the space works great for a candle to shine through!

In the cup, squeeze out a glob of the clear bathroom silicone, and then sprinkle in the glitter. mix well. Set your tile pieces, back side u p, on wax paper and use the glittered silicone to adhere them together. Let set for a good 24-36 hours until the silicone looks like solid glitter and is firm. I added little pieces of cardboard at each connection to act as a brace.

Apply silicone around all four sides of the base tile and set the four sides upright. Squish them together so they are firmly intact. Let dry overnight, again until silicone is clear. Use a baby wipe to remove any excess silicone.

Use the gold leaf pen to line all the edges. When you’re all done, add the votive holder and votive inside!
