Podcast #18: How to make a media kit

I have a new podcast episode: How to make a media kit that rocks! My friend and marketing expert, Rosa Pruneda, visited Phoenix recently and sat down with me to spill all the goods on this topic!

Here is a link to the podcast if you can’t see it below!

Rosa knows this topic very well because she worked with influencers at a national publicity and marketing firm. Her job was to match up the perfect bloggers/online personalities with national brands. That’s how I met her! Now Rosa has opened her own firm and she says media kits are absolutely essential for entrepreneurs.

In the podcast interview, Rosa says a media kit is a quick way to make an impact. We live in such a fast-paced world and many times people don’t have time to hear your whole pitch about your brand. If you have a killer media kit, it will do the work for you.

Use a platform like Canva or PicMonkey to make your media kit. Make it clean and bright. Remember, this is what will be passed around the table as clients consider to work with you, so make it right! And you can totally make it yourself. Clear off a couple hours from your schedule and get to work! You can do it!

Here is an overview of how to make a media kit (podcast goes more in-depth)!

  • No longer than one page.
  • Add a bright picture or two that shows who you are.
  • Include your social media numbers.
  • Add in a short bio.
  • Insert logos of brands you’ve worked with.
  • Contact info is essential.
  • Don’t forget to relay what you are about – what do you do?
  • Use a platform like Canva to create your kit.
