How to Rock a Lavender Christmas Tree!

Here is how to rock a lavender Christmas tree!

When it comes to the holiday season, it’s so easy to fall into a routine of tradition. We often don’t even give our tree colors a second thought – we go with GREEN. Of course!

Lively Lavender Tree by Treetopia

Why? Because that’s the way it is, right?

This tree is originally from a company, Treetopia, but sadly they are no longer in business. But you can still find a lavender tree – and a lot of other colors – on Amazon.

Back to when I first acquired this tree. I used to co-own a boutique in central Phoenix, and shared the space with a dear friend of mine, Curtis. He suggested to opt for the lavender tree for our store. I took his advice, even though I’m hardly living in the “lavender” color wheel of life.

Then I saw what Twinkie Chan did with her Lively Lavender tree and my excitement escalated! The tree arrived, we set it up, plugged it in and oohed and ahhed at its awesomeness!

I wanted it to reflect my Mexican heritage, but not have it look like a pinata exploded on top. “Mexi-Lux” was the vibe I wanted. Stylish, but still reflecting cultura. And the WOW factor! The pre-lit lights sure helped!

My awesome lavender tree.

Juicy red velvet poinsettias (I pulled them off the stems) were placed as the anchor ornaments. Then I strung multi-color pompom trim around the tree. From there I filled in with large painted tin ornaments I purchased on a visit to San Miguel de Allende. The largest one went at the top of the tree.

My own handmade Phoenix-inspired cactus ornaments added a nice touch.

So how does one rock a lavender Christmas tree? Easy! Go with what makes you happy!

More non-traditional ideas for your lavender Christmas tree

Stick to a monochromatic palette by using various shades of purple. Incorporate ornaments in deeper and lighter shades of purple to create a sophisticated and cohesive look.

Introduce metallic accents in silver, gold, or rose gold to add a touch of glamour to the lavender tree. These can include ornaments, tinsel, and even a metallic tree topper.

Turn your tree into a fairy tale wonderland by adding whimsical ornaments like fairies, unicorns, and mythical creatures. Use soft, pastel-colored decorations to complement the lavender.

Incorporate vintage-style ornaments, such as Mexi-style baubles, lace ribbons, and antique-style lockets with pictures inside, to create a nostalgic feel.

Adorn your tree with artificial lavender sprigs, purple flowers, and greenery to emphasize the natural beauty of the lavender color. This can create a lovely garden-like effect.

Use clear crystal and glass ornaments to add a touch of elegance and lightness. These can reflect the tree lights beautifully, creating a sparkling effect.

Mix the lavender with icy blues and whites to create a winter wonderland theme. Include snowflake ornaments, white garlands, and frosty blue accents.

For a boho-chic look, add handcrafted ornaments, macrame elements, wooden beads, and eclectic patterns that complement the lavender hue.

Use LED lights in various colors to create a dynamic lighting effect. You can choose from twinkling, fading, or static lights in colors that harmonize with lavender.

Create or purchase unique, artistic ornaments such as hand-painted baubles, abstract designs, or modern art-inspired pieces to give your tree a contemporary and artsy vibe.

Add a personal touch with custom ornaments featuring family photos, initials, or hand-written messages on lavender-themed baubles.

Use star-shaped ornaments and garlands to create a celestial theme. Incorporate shades of navy and gold to contrast the lavender for a stunning starry night effect.
