If you are not familiar with Nielsen, it’s been a leader in market research for more than 90 years. When you see a TV show is #1, Nielsen is the company behind those facts and figures! I remember back in the day when my family was chosen by Nielsen to document all our TV watching habits. We were so excited to contribute!
I love that we are now in the digital age and have so many ways to consume our media. And I’m impressed that Nielsen has smartly evolved to accommodate it all. Even more so, they devote energy to not just the general market, but other segments such as African American, Asian American, Latino/Hispanic to ensure our voices and choices are included.
Now Nielsen has a new way to connect with all of us on this very topic. Nielsen has launched an online panel program that is open to everyone and offers rewards for joining. You don’t have to wait to be chosen by them to be a Nielsen family, you can do it yourself using the Nielsen app.
Here’s how it works:
Visit this link and sign up. You’ll take a short registration survey, then it will have you add the app to some or all your devices. Your choice which ones you want to include. You don’t have to enter a credit card or anything like that.
That’s it, just use your devices as usual. Your Internet Usage will be fed into the Nielsen market research. It’s free to use, and in fact, you will be entered to win rewards and you can change for prizes when you register you mobile devices and up to $1,000 a month when you register your computers. At any time you want to stop, you can simply remove the app.
