New Crafty Chica Sizzix Line!

This is one of my behind-the-scenes projects that I can finally reveal! My new Crafty Chica Sizzix line of die cuts and cling stamps are debuting this summer! It’s really difficult to hold in exciting news like this and I’m happy to finally spill all the details!

Day-of-the-Dead-Collection

This product line was an entirely new experience from the other Crafty Chica products I designed. Die cuts are all about paper, which was a new area for me. I came up with dozen of ideas and the team at Sizzix helped me fine tune the best of the best. I used Snapchat a lot as my focus group along the way, and am so thankful for all of you who pitched in suggestions. They helped so much!

These days, my life is all about the paper! I can’t wait to show you all the things I’ve been making. I recently taped some episodes of Make It Artsy where I used one of the dies, and then three videos for FaveCrafts, where I made three tutorials!

For example, here is one of my early sketches…I wanted a die cut that not only cut a skull, but also a hollow skull shape, like a frame in the shape of a skull.

This was my initial sketch and after a lot of reworking to make it functional in size and price – it ended up as this design! So in this one die – you get a frame, a skull, a ribbon banner, and three hearts! Talk about multi-fuction! My friend, corky made this card with the die.

You can read all about the Crafty Chica Day of the Dead Collection here on the Sizzix blog! If you want to buy anything from this line, request it from your local paper arts or craft store! Once the line is out and for sale, I’ll share a store list here as well. I made sure to design everything to have a multitude of options for layering and embellishing. I also designed a set of cling stamps, as well as embossing folders too!

When we went on the Crafty Chica Art Cruise in April we gave them a test run. Here are a few samples of things we made, plus pictures from the cruise where we put everything to use!

Thanks so much for checking it out! What would you make with these?

  2. Hi! I love these! My question is: can the die be used on the Ellison die cut type machines? That is the type that is available at my school. Please advise. Thank you! Lisa
