These DIY skull planters are so cool, even though I’ve seen them at the store. The key is to find the plastic skulls at the dollar store and then do this Day of the Dead craft.
Put those succulents to work, or any plants for that matter! They’ll offer some personality by way of these skull planters.
As I mentioned above, I purchased these plastic hollow skulls from the dollar store, then I simply cut off the tops using a hot knife – be careful!
DIY Skull Planters supplies:
Hot knife, or be very careful and use a craft knife
Sandpaper
Craft paint or spray paint
Sealer
Paint brushes
My tip: Draw a line with chalk where you want to cut so you will keep it all nice and even.
DIY Skull Planters directions:
You can also drill a hole at the bottom for drainage, then spray paint.
Make sure to do that outside where there is a lot of ventilation. Ley dry completely.
Use potting soil to add the plants. Even if you don’t use live plants, you can use silk greenery, fake cacti or even paper flowers!
Take it a step further and paint detailed accents on the faces!
