Coca-Cola Pork Sliders

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post with Coca-Cola and Ritz Crackers. All opinions and experiences of making (and eating) these awesome sliders are all my own!

You guys! Aside from this mouth-watering Coca-Cola Pork Sliders recipe today, I’m also offering a chance for you to score a $350 prize pack from Coca-Cola and Ritz Crackers! All you have to do is create a Pinterest board themed around all the things you would want to make to celebrate the big game coming up this Sunday. Once you create your Pinterest board themed around food and crafts you want to make for the big game, title the board “CocaCola #HomeBowlHeroContest” – then post the link to your board in the comment section of this post! I’ll choose three to each win a $350 prize pack.

Two notes:

– Pins on the board need to feature “#HomeBowlHeroContest” in the captions
– You don’t need to pin photos of Coca-Cola or Ritz in order to be entered to win

I’m normally not a sports person, but I’m super excited that the game is IN MY HOME TOWN! And that I’m working with Coca-Cola to celebrate it!

NOTE: You won’t find the pork shoulder in the Coca-Cola display, lol. I picked that up in the meat department for this recipe!

You’ll probably see this sign at the store this week – it’s all about “Home Bowl“! For this promotion, Coca-Cola is partnering with Evite to create a custom “Home Bowl” experience on www.homebowl.com allowing party planners and football fans alike to create Evite invitations for their party, access to game day recipes and other party tips, and access MyCokeRewards for product coupons. Sure it is centered around the game, but it’s also about offering yet another reason to get together with friends and family to make happy memories together.

Now about these sliders – here’s how I made them. And special thank to my friend, Lauri Eaton for the inspiration! The ingredients sound weird, but the result is a sweet, juicy flavor with a kick!

Ingredients:

5lb pork shoulder

2 liters Coca-Cola

1 bottle of spicy BBQ sauce

1 cup of brewed coffee

Salt and pepper to taste

Soft Hawaiian dinner rolls

Pepper Jack cheese

Directions: (NOTE: I cut the recipe in half because I didn’t need to make so much food!) In a large pot (or even in your crock pot), brown the pork shoulder with a little bit of cooking oil. Then add the Coca-Cola, the BBQ sauce, the coffee. It should almost cover the top of the meat. If you want them to be spicier, you can add a little bit of cayenne pepper.

Now you are going to cover it and sit tight for about 6-7 hours while it cooks on low heat. The liquid will decrease as time goes on. You want to let it cook until all the liquid is gone. Add salt and pepper to taste.

I topped them with shredded Pepper Jack cheese and put them on Hawaiian rolls. OMG, we hurried to take these pictures so we could gobble down these sliders! You can add potato salad or broccoli slaw on the side. I also added some Ritz Crackers and avocado slices sprinkled with Tajin seasoning.
