Hello there! My name is Alicia! I’m excited to be sharing a fun craft with you today! Brimming with ideas and enthusiasm, I narrowed down my first project to a centerpiece.

I am overjoyed to be guest posting here and decided to share with you all my 16-Bit Centerpiece!16bitcenterpiece2

Supplies:

  • Perler Beads (You do not need the giant container in the picture, that’s just what I got)
  • Perler Pegboard
  • 16 Gauge Wire
  • Hot Glue
  • Vase
  • Glass Gems
  • Parchment or Wax Paper
  • Iron

Let’s Get Started!

Choose the colors desired for each flower. For each basic color, you will need a variety of shades to add highlights and shadows. Begin placing your designs on the pegboard, experiment with different flowers and designs until you are happy.

Now, it’s time to position your flowers. Fill the vase with glass gems, and arrange each flower. Bending the wire at the bottom, like in the picture above, adds stability to those pesky bloomers that attempt to wilt.

Just like that, you’ve created flowers as though you possess a green thumb! Unlike ones that sprout from the ground, these beauties will never wither. Personally, I am fond of making extra flowers in different colors to change the arrangement on occasion.

Thank you so much for checking out my 16-Bit Centerpiece! If you enjoy crafts with a bit (or 16) of geekiness, you can view more on my blog. http://madamgeek.blogspot.com/ I post other projects and tutorials about anything from home decor to cosplay and props, as well as life stories and reviews.
