OK, it took me a few minutes to get the gist of this page-turner. This book so super clever in that the author – and reveled librarian – Jessica, shares her love of the library as inspiration for DIY project. For example, from the synopsis: “Whatever the quest—historic watermarks transformed into pillows, Japanese family crests turned into coasters, or historic millinery instructions worked into floral fascinators—anyone can utilize library resources to bring their creative visions to life.” Very cool indeed. I am very pro-library and work with my local branch on events every year. This is just one more reason to celebrate libraries and craft. Thank you, Jessica! Cliff and Andrea Currie run the blog, Handmake My Day – it’s like a kooky his and her showdown with glitter, scissors and anything else you can think of! AND – you know this book is a good one, because Andrea is one of the winners of the TLC series, Craft Wars. (I wish we still had that show, it was so fun!). The projects in this book stick to the his and her theme, which makes them perfect for date night, or even family crafting day. This book appealed to me because it has a lot of unexpected ideas, as well as those I’ve always wanted to try. Free-motion sewing of a coffee cup on canvas. Why, sure!.
