Random acts of craftiness

It’s been a super long, tiring, fantastic, overwhelming season. I bounced from Long Beach to Mexico to Los Angeles to New York and still did the grocery shopping, made art for orders and all kinds of other things here at home in Phoenix. This was mine and Patrick’s worst year for organizing. Many things fell through the cracks. Next year we’ll be hiring help from September-November because I had one too many meltdowns this season and Patrick feels like his whole body is going numb. That is not good. Thank goodness my friend Keri came and helped me out twice. I don’t know what I would have done without her! But, the result was a slew of kick-ass events and awesome people we got to meet. We even made some fun art throughout all of it! Here are some of the highlights: My glittered barstools, Patrick’s painted dresser, my embellished lucha mask among a few other goodies…

I just got back from New York yesterday, where I taught an empowerment shrine making class. I had such a blast and met so many wonderful, creative ladies. I love NY so much, and this trip was even better than all my previous visits because the co-owner of the Open Center (where I taught) let me use her studio apartment in Greenwich Village. i made her some thank you gifts, which are drying in the studio as I type this. I’ll post pictures soon. Anyway, this was to be my last big event of the season. As soon as my feet touched my tiled floor here at home, I planned to finish up two more book proposals and the next round of revisions on my fiction manuscript from my agent. Well, things never turn out as planned. I came home to a huge stack of orders – and the inspiration to paint the interior of our house. I’ll save the latter for later though.

And I have some exciting news to share! I’m now an official endorser/spokesperson/whatever you want to call it of Aleene’s Tacky Glue! More on that later…

Alrighty, here are some pics!
